Our Programs: Healthy Schools & School Meals

Every meal students see or eat at school sends a message about healthy food choices. FGTT plans menus, develops recipes, and provides breakfast, lunch, and after school snacks based on the current principles of good nutrition and health, e.g., The Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2005. FGTT takes meals to another healthier level, combining these principles with fresh, organic ingredients. All student meals are made from scratch, without pre-prepared foods or catering from fast-food establishments. In addition, classroom lessons and tastings are reinforced with cafeteria events, posters, and menus. Parents and school staff are always welcome to join students at any meal.
