for Schools and Communities

From the Garden to the Table provides an array of nutrition programs for at-risk youth and the teachers, parents, and communities that surround them:

  • After-school classes in nutrition and cooking based on sustainable organic agriculture, as well as physical development and art.
  • School meals using only organic, fresh ingredients.
  • Design and equipment procurement for teaching and school meal production kitchens.
  • Consulting services and staff training for school food service re-organization toward healthier, fresher meals.
  • Organizing community organic farmers' markets.

The goal of FGTT is to be at the forefront of promoting the physical, mental, and spiritual achievement and health of youth, through peers, families, schools, and communities grounded in organic and sustainable growing, cooking, and eating practices.
